GoodCopGreatCop are a four-piece alternative rock band from Perth, Scotland. They originally started at university when Andy McGowan looked to create a band with material he had been working on for a long time.
The band formed in October 2012 and immediately went to practice managing to bag their first local gig by March 2013. As a result of three Scottish tours and an impressive amount of additional gigs the band have managed to establish themselves as one of the countries hottest up and coming rock bands.
With the release of their first single in November 2013, their full EP February 2014 and two other singles in the following months, GoodCopGreatCop have gained recognition from Scottish Industry giants such as Jim Gellatly, XFM Scotland, Amazing Radio, Rave Child and have also been picked up by BBC Radio 6.
The band have a small but enthusiastic fan base across the country which has been picked up due to their energetic, memorable and loud live shows. Playing live is something the band pride themselves on whether its at venues as big as the Perth Concert Hall or as small as Sneaky Pete's they always put on a show to blow away paying fans.
Their sound has often been described as typically Scottish but with an early naughties American punk influence. The band have been hugely influenced by the the likes of My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Sum 41, Funeral For A Friend, Blink 182 and have learned to adapt their sound to their more recent influences like The National, Bon Iver, And So I Watch You From Afar, Brigade, Fightstar, Straight Lines and many more.
