Robbie is a singer songwriter from Aberdeen, Scotland and writes his own brand of acoustic folk songs taking influences from artists such as Nick Drake, John Martyn, Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens. In October 2014, Robbie supported another of his musical inspirations, Scott Matthews, at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.
He describes himself as “one man and his guitar” and continues, “I’ve always been a fan of home recordings as it frees up the musician(s). You can hear the little nuances in the recording, such as a creak in the room, which I personally believe gives the music a more intimate and personal feel”.
However, one of the drawbacks of being an unsigned artist is that “you’re left to your own devices, which is good but can make it difficult to get a release out”.

"[The City Who Forgot] is an entertaining tune with a gentle, genial tone to it. Robbie’s vocals are really warm and polished, the acoustics are fantastic as well as smooth, and the listener gets easily sucked in by the harmonious melody and remarkable writing." - Local Music Scene blog
