"The City Who Forgot"
Robbie Flanagan's debut single on Ganbei titled 'The City Who Forgot', is a beautifully melancholic acoustic song about love and loss.
The Local Music Scene blog describe the track as "an entertaining tune with a gentle, genial tone to it. Robbie’s vocals are really warm and polished, the acoustics are fantastic as well as smooth, and the listener gets easily sucked in by the harmonious melody and remarkable writing".
Robbie is a singer songwriter from Aberdeen, Scotland (currently a hotbed for new music) and writes his own brand acoustic folk songs taking influences from artists such as Nick Drake, John Martyn, Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens.
He describes himself as “one man and his guitar” and continues, “I’ve always been a fan of home recordings as it frees up the musician(s). You can hear the little nuances in the recording, such as a creak in the room, which I personally believe gives the music a more intimate and personal feel”.
